Kermit said, “It’s not easy being green,” but Lisa Lou and Miz Liz show you how important it is - and how it can be done - in this magical, exciting, fast paced show! Students learn about the many types of energy, from non-renewable fossil fuels to cleaner, renewable energy sources such as: Geothermal; Wind; Solar; and Hydro. Using magic and circus skills, Lisa and Liz will demonstrate and explain what energy is, why we must limit our use of fossil fuels, and how we can do this by harnessing the four elements - Earth, Wind, Fire & Water. This program touches on the challenges and rewards of seeking alternative fuel sources, and encourages students to do their part in using energy wisely. Audiences will have so much fun watching this very interactive program - they won’t even realize how much they are learning. Grades K-5 | | The Next Step | Scot Cannon’s Pantomime Musical for Junior & Senior High With lyrics, movement, guitar and an original musical score, Scot presents the story of a high school student about to make decisions he feels will influence the rest of his life. Will he pass his audition and go to music school, work for his father's business or quit school and play with his band? For a junior high audience Scot talks about how to plan for a successful high school career, how to find and use your talents and what to do with those career dreams. For a high school show Scot discusses how to use dreams, reality, success and failure to prepare for the future. The Next Step emphasizes motivation, patience and the willingness to take risks to grow and learn. Grades 7 – 12 | | The Plant Nation | Respect for the Environment Little Hawk, dressed in traditional Native American attire, is like a museum exhibit come alive as he plays his wooden flutes and tells stories of the lessons he learned from his grandparents. In this program, Little Hawk speaks to his audience about the respect that Native Americans have for the earth - and his belief that all humans need to honor, cherish and preserve it. He also shows how his grandfather taught him to use rocks, gourds. conch shells, and more, to make instruments and other useful things. Students are invited to participate in Little Hawk's Rock and Rattle Band, and he asks them to join his "Good-Heart Tribe" and pledge to make the world a better place.
