Imagination In Motion builds on the “Three C’s”: Concentration, Cooperation and Commitment to aid teachers in designing instructional units that will encourage students to differentiate the meanings of: Literal, Figurative, Interpreted, and Inferred.
Teachers will acquire tools that will help students improve social interaction with peers, develop problem-solving skills, and use critical thinking skills to make decisions.
|Encounters with Clay|
Work with clay as a medium in the classroom and understand its qualities.
Develop ideas about how to incorporate its use into different subject areas as Social Studies, Science, Cultural Awareness and Art Appreciation, while learning how to teach children to work with it.
The history of pottery will be explored, hand-building techniques will be demonstrated and experienced, and sample projects will be made. A genuine “hands-on” experience with visible results!
|Poetry - The Circle of Words|
Poetry is known to strengthen the self by revealing the unseen emotion inside us.
This workshop reveals and outlines the secrets of teaching with poetry through an overview of poetry’s purpose and place in human experience. The benefits of poetry as they apply to increased awareness, acceptance, and personal growth will be explored. A selection of poetry appropriate for different developmental stages will be included.
